1. Paper-insulated and polystyrene tape-insulated cables require a sealed jacket. Lead sealing jackets were used in the early days, and aluminum sealing jackets were also used later. In some cases, an aluminum-polyethylene bonded sheath is also used, which is a semi-sealed sheath.
